Tyler Nyznyk

Meet Tyler,

Head Coach of our U16 girls team for the 2026-2027 season.

Tyler’s volleyball journey began in Grade 7, where a love for the game quickly turned into a lifelong passion. That passion led to coaching junior high and developmental teams while still in high school, laying the foundation for a coaching career that has spanned nearly two decades.

After graduating high school, Tyler attended the University of Alberta and earned a degree in Education. During that time, he transitioned into club volleyball, coaching at the U16 and U18 levels as both an assistant and head coach, gaining valuable experience in athlete development and competitive volleyball.

Today, Tyler is a junior high Physical Education and Construction teacher, as well as the Athletic Director at a local school. He has spent nearly 20 years coaching school volleyball and helping student-athletes develop skills, confidence and a love for sport.

Known for his knowledge of the game, strategy and passion for the game both on and off the court. He is excited to begin a new chapter in his coaching journey with Empire Volleyball.
