Meet Chris, Head Coach of our U18 Gold team for the 2025-2026 Season.
Chris brings over 20 years of volleyball experience as both an athlete and a coach. He graduated from the University of Alberta with a Bachelor’s Degree in Education (Major in Physical Education) and worked as an educator for a number of years. He began his volleyball journey in high school, later competing at a high level in the Edmonton Volleyball Association and representing in the 30+ Men’s Division at the World Masters Games.
His coaching career includes leading a senior boys’ team to two city championships with Edmonton Public Schools, as well as serving as Assistant Coach for the NAVC 16U boys. Beyond volleyball, Chris has coached hockey, basketball, badminton, track and field, and baseball. Over the past two seasons, Chris has successfully coached U16 and U17 girls teams, building competitive squads while helping athletes grow into confident, assertive players.
Passionate about fostering life skills through sport, Chris focuses on teamwork, resilience, leadership, and discipline - qualities that benefit athletes long after the end of a season. His goal is to help every player reach their competitive potential while developing a true love for the game. We are thrilled to welcome Chris to Empire.
